Kid-friendly restaurants are hard to find in Manhattan but Big Daddy's offers relief to parents at three locations. The menu is basic diner stuff. You can't go wrong with the burgers and milkshakes, especially the bacon cheeseburger, which is well lined with thick smoked bacon. The staff was even kind enough to substitute a ciabatta roll when we objected to sesame seeds. Tater tots offer an alternative to fries. Cold drinks are served in giant red plastic Coke glasses. Decor is bright and colorful, with impressive decorative use of lunchboxes. The noise level can be high, with lots of piping voices, but that's part of the child-friendly diner experience.
