In Haitian Creole, Krik means "would you like to hear a story?" and Krak means "yes!" The story at the Krik Krak is French-accented Caribbean cui-sine and we say yes to Lambi Creole, with diced conch—somewhat like calamari in texture—in a mildly spicy sauce. Served with red beans and white rice, which may be mixed or ladled out separately, it's a treat. Other fish choices include red snapper, shrimp, and codfish cakes. Prefer meat? Try the fried pork chunks. Weekly menu items also include okra stew (Monday), string- and lima-bean stew (Tuesday), codfish and veg stew (Thursday), beef, crab, and vegetable soup (Saturday), and squash soup with beef feet (Sunday). The place is small, but low-key and friendly.
