Without a doubt the first thing to order at this, one of Manhattan's all too rare outposts of Malaysian cuisine, is the Malaysian Lobak, a plate full of crispy fried pork, various kinds of fried tofu and fish ball, and a salad garnish with cabbage, carrots, and bean sprouts, all served with plum and sweet & sour sauces. It makes a great appetizer for two or a great meal for one. The noodle dishes include a good Pad Thai. The Malaysian satay, with chicken or beef, is delicious, with an exceptional peanut sauce. Move on to the entrees and you'll enjoy the mango shrimp in mildly spicy sauce over crispy rice noodles (the version on the takeout menu comes instead with white rice). And, for heartier appetites, the basil beef is filling and good. Pricing is on the affordable side, and becomes even more so if you order from the almost sinfully cheap lunch menu.
