Translate the owner's family name, Migliaccio, into English and you've got Noodle Pudding. There's no sign outside, just a tiny plaque inside the door to confirm you're in the right place. And bring greenbacks because this restaurant belongs to a pre-plastic era. A vegetarian friend suggested it so we felt slightly guilty about ordering the apparently rather famous Osso Bucco, a slow-braised veal shank, so tender it falls off the bone, served with polenta and grit-free spinach that melted in our mouth. The Italian wine list is extensive but you can't go wrong with the house reds. We finished with a Viennese fig and date strudel and a glass of port. There's something about sitting in the right kind of Italian restaurant, with Sinatra singing "Come Fly with Me" in the background, that makes us inexpressibly happy.
