This steakhouse proves that the Upper West Side has become a destination for food lovers. Roth's calamari appetizer is one of the city's best, and the crabcake is a nice fat one with lump and shredded crab, no filler, and light (not gooey) slaw. The star of the lunch menu is the Blue Sky Rancher Salad, a mound of greens and veggies in vinaigrette topped with bleu cheese and tender thin-sliced steak. For dinner enjoy a thick, tender, and done-to-perfection filet mignon or a juicy veal chop. Energetic owner and staff ensure meticulous service. Sotto voce live jazz in the evening completes the atmosphere.
